The holidays are around the corner! Stuff your favorite roleplayer’s stocking with something they’ll absolutely adore with our list of unique Dungeons and Dragons Gift Ideas for 2023, curated by all of us at Plus One to Gaming. Enjoy!

From Chris, With Love

As a writer and imaginator, I love things that facilitate the creative process in useful or unique ways. I picked these gifts because they embody the spirit of this podcast by getting the game out of the way of storytelling and for their potential to create fantastic memories with others.

Quest Decks

Quest Decks are a great way to generate fun ideas to keep your games moving forward. I love that they can be used for pretty much any game system - even solo play!

POTGaming Swag

If your tablemate enjoys the podcast, hook them up with some swag from our shop!

Personalized Dice Rolling Mat

While most of our games use Roll20, we do sling dice now and again. And on my table, they always bounce off the table. These mats look amazing, are portable, and can be personalized, making them a thoughtful gift.

Dungeons & Dragons Art & Arcana: A Visual History

If your tablemate doesn’t already have this, the art and lore contained in this tome will keep them enthralled for ages. I actually received this gift along with some metal dice from a relative and was over the moon!

From Erik, With Love

I am a bit of a minimalist. Living in southern California has made me very conscious about the space possessions take in my home.

I also like to buy gifts from organizations I already support. This usually leads to a lot of my gifts being something practical, small, or digital.

One Year's Membership to Roll20

This is a no-brainer for anyone playing tabletop games over the internet. With features like Dynamic Lighting, No Load Screen Ads, and in-app music, Roll20 allows for an immersive gaming experience.

This is the program we use the most when playing online. Billy has been a paying member for almost 15 years, and it's been worth every penny.

Gift Card to Hero Forge

Heroforge is my go-to for character design. I use their state-of-the-art character design to get a feel for what my PC looks like. Heroforge has a solution for every budget ranging from the downloadable file for you to print at home to a bronze cast of your character.

They also have a 3D digital download for playing on virtual tabletops. Heroforge adds new items very regularly, ensuring that you will always go back for more.

Hire a GM to Lead a Game

If you have problems finding a GM to run your games or if you want to give your forever GM a break, hire a professional. There are tons of websites dedicated to GMs selling their services. Many have reviews built in so you can make sure your players have fun.

The GMs will list their style, experience, and price, you simply need to find someone that fits your party’s vibe. This can be a great value for one-shots or year-long campaigns.

Custom Character Art

Visual representations of a PC are a very important part of playing tabletop games. You can describe your character to your tablemates ad nauseum, but nothing beats a good mugshot.

Luckily for those of us who are artistically challenged, there are professionals for this. Commissioning character art for someone can be a very personal and powerful gift.

Just make sure they are okay with it first. You don't want to tell someone what their PC looks like. Have the player give a detailed description of the PC, including what style they are looking for. It could range from cartoony to grittily realistic.

From Mark, With Love

Rings of Power Status Trackers

The least expensive spell range ruler on the web. I searched and searched, and this is high quality, has pretty much everything you need and is an actually acceptable price for such a simple item.

Campaign & Dungeon Accessory Books

Pick these Jeff Ashworth books up on a whim and was immediately inspired to work on a campaign. Excellent resource with all the basic info you need to pull interesting NPCs, traps, puzzles and even one-shots out of thin air.

D&D 5e Field Notes Gaming Journals

Field Notes 5e gaming journals are a great way to keep a ton of details straight while taking up a small amount of table space.

Paper Apps DUNGEON

I’m dying to try this little solo dungeon-crawling notebook game, and although I probably shouldn’t recommend things I haven’t tried yet, I’ve watched enough videos to tell I’d love it. Plus, at $8 what an awesome stocking stuffer!
